Server Rules

Trono is a serious roleplay server. These rules exist to protect the story — yours and everyone else's. Read them properly before you apply; "I didn't know" is not a defence, but honest mistakes handled well rarely end in a ban.

The rule behind every other rule. Play a person, not a player. Ask yourself what your character would actually do — someone with a history, people they care about, and something to lose. If the honest answer is "no real person would do that," don't do it. Staff judge intent and effort, not clever technicalities.

Conduct & Community

1.1Treat people well out of character

Your character can be a monster. You cannot. Harassment, hate speech, slurs, sexism, racism, homophobia or transphobia will end your time here immediately and permanently, in game, in Discord, or anywhere else connected to Trono.

1.2Keep IC and OOC separate

What happens to your character is not happening to you. Do not carry in-character grudges into Discord or DMs, and do not let real-life friendships or arguments decide what your character does. If a scene upsets you as a person, step away and open a ticket — do not retaliate in game.

1.3Staff decisions are final in the moment

Arguing with staff mid-scene helps nobody. Comply, finish the scene, then appeal properly through a ticket. Appeals are read and staff do overturn themselves — but not while ten people are stood waiting.

1.4Do not use tickets or reports as a weapon

Report genuine rule breaks. Reporting someone because you lost a fight, or spamming reports to pressure staff, is itself punishable.

1.5Adult topics have hard limits

Sexual violence, torture of a sexual nature, self-harm and suicide are never acceptable roleplay. Heavy topics such as addiction or grief may be roleplayed with genuine care and everyone's consent, and anyone may withdraw at any time by saying so in OOC chat — that request is instant and not up for debate.

Accounts & Characters

2.1You must be 16 or older

No exceptions, and lying about your age on an application is an immediate permanent ban.

2.2One account per person

Alt accounts to dodge a ban, farm money or stack applications are bannable on every account involved. If you need a second character, you already have character slots — use them.

2.3Realistic character names

First and last name that a real person could plausibly have. No celebrities, no joke names, no single names, no symbols or emoji. Staff will rename characters that break this without warning.

2.4Your characters do not know each other

You start with two character slots. Information one of them learns does not transfer to another — you cannot use a second character to help, supply, warn, fund or avenge your first, and they must never knowingly interact. This is metagaming and it is treated seriously.

2.5Your account is your responsibility

Do not share it, do not sell it. Anything done on your account is treated as done by you.

Core Roleplay Rules

3.1No metagaming

Using information your character has no in-character way of knowing. Streams, Discord calls, a friend texting you a location, someone's name above their head, or something you saw on another character — none of it exists to the person you are playing.

3.2No powergaming

Forcing an outcome nobody gets to react to, or giving your character abilities they have no business having. Emote what you attempt, not what succeeds — /me reaches for the pistol, not /me disarms him and knocks him out. Give the other person room to respond.

3.3No fail RP

Acting in a way that ignores the reality of the world: sprinting away mid-conversation with a gun on you, treating a broken leg as an inconvenience, driving a supercar down a staircase to escape, or behaving with zero regard for consequence.

3.4Stay in character

Use OOC channels only for genuine out-of-character need. Do not discuss rules, exploits, staff, or Discord in open in-character chat or voice. If you must break character, make it brief and obvious.

3.5Do not force RP onto unwilling people without escalation

Build up to things. Robbing, kidnapping or shooting someone you have never interacted with, with no lead-up, is not a story — it is an inconvenience with extra steps.

Value of Life & New Life

4.1Fear your death

If a weapon is pointed at you at close range, you are outnumbered, or you are clearly beaten, act like it. Comply. Negotiate. Beg if you have to. Pulling a pistol on three people holding rifles is not brave, it is a rule break.

4.2Complying is not losing

Being robbed, arrested or beaten is a story beat, not a defeat. Some of the best roleplay on the server comes out of characters losing badly and living with it.

4.3Being downed is not death — give EMS a chance

When you go down you have five minutes of bleedout for someone to reach you, and you cannot self-respawn for the first minute. Use that time: call it in, stay in character, let the scene breathe. Bleeding out instantly on purpose to skip a scene, or to deny the people around you the roleplay, is fail RP.

4.4New Life Rule — only if you actually died

If you bleed out and respawn at the hospital, your character does not remember how they died, who killed them, or what the fight was about. You may not return to the scene, retaliate, recover your body, or contact anyone involved about it.

If a medic or another player revives you, that is not death — you keep your memory. But play the injury: you were critically hurt minutes ago and you should be shaken and slow, not straight back into a gunfight.

4.5Hospital bills are part of it

Respawning carries a hospital fee. That is a consequence of dying, not a punishment — do not argue it with staff, and do not dodge it by disconnecting.

4.6Never combat log

Disconnecting to escape a robbery, an arrest, an injury or any active scene is one of the fastest ways to be removed from the server. If you genuinely crash, reconnect and return to the scene immediately.

4.7Character kills are permanent only by agreement

A character may only be permanently killed off with the owner's consent, or by staff ruling in extreme circumstances.

Combat

5.1No RDM

Do not kill or shoot anyone without meaningful roleplay leading to it. A demand, a threat, a history — something. "He was in my way" is not a reason.

5.2No VDM

Your vehicle is not a weapon. Running people down without roleplay is treated exactly as harshly as shooting them, and repeatedly ramming players is bannable on sight.

5.3No third-partying

If a scene is already running between other people, you are not entitled to walk in and start shooting because you saw it happen. Join with roleplay, or leave it alone.

5.4No spawn camping or hospital camping

Waiting at hospitals, garages or apartment exits to attack people is not roleplay.

5.5Do not use OOC advantages in a fight

No third-person peeking around corners you could not see around, no using the pause menu map to track people mid-chase, no re-logging to reposition.

5.6There are no safe zones — use your head

Trono has no scripted green zones. Nowhere is mechanically protected, which means the only thing stopping a shootout in the middle of the hospital is you. Starting violence somewhere your character would obviously be caught — a police station lobby, an ER full of witnesses — is not brave, it is fail RP, and it will be treated as such.

5.7Drive-bys

Shooting from a vehicle is allowed and unrestricted by speed, which makes it very easy to abuse. It still needs the same build-up as any other violence — a drive-by on someone you have never spoken to is RDM with extra steps.

Criminal Roleplay

6.1Crime needs a reason and a story

Robberies, drug operations and heists should come out of your character's situation. Money is a means to a story, not the point of one.

6.2Scale the crew to the job

Heists enforce a minimum crew in code — the bigger scores need more people, and the server will refuse to start one you are undermanned for. There is no enforced maximum, which means the judgement is yours: bringing twelve people to a corner-shop register is not a heist, it is a queue, and staff will treat it as fail RP.

6.3Hostages must be willing participants

Never take a hostage who has not had a chance to be part of the scene, and never hold someone hostage for longer than the roleplay can sustain. Hostages have rights: they can talk, negotiate and be afraid. A hostage is a person, not a shield stat.

6.4Do not bait police

Committing crime purely to trigger a police response, or driving past officers repeatedly hoping for a chase, is not roleplay.

6.5Respect cooldowns

A register that has been cleared goes cold for 20 minutes, and heists have their own longer cooldowns. These exist so the city is not permanently on fire. Do not rotate characters, swap crew members or queue alts to work around them — the cooldown is the point, not an obstacle.

6.6Drug operations are criminal, not casual

Growing, cooking and selling carries real risk. Selling in the open outside a police station, or spamming the same NPC corner for hours, is not roleplay. Dirty cash has to be laundered before it is any use to you, and being caught holding it is evidence — play that, do not argue it.

6.7Do not rob people of everything they own

Take what makes sense for the scene. Stripping someone of every item, their vehicle and their entire balance because you can is bad roleplay and will be reversed.

6.8Crime against new players

Give people finding their feet room to breathe. Repeatedly targeting obviously new characters is punishable.

Gangs & Organisations

7.1Gangs are chartered, not declared

A gang exists when it has a charter, a name and a leadership structure — not because four people bought the same jacket. Approach staff to establish one properly.

7.2Conflict needs a reason your enemy can see

Wars start over territory, money, disrespect or betrayal — things the other side can understand and respond to. "We decided to wipe them out" is not a story, and staff will step in on gang conflicts that produce nothing but bodies.

7.3Hideouts are for your organisation

Do not use a hideout to escape an active pursuit, to store hostages, or to stash people or goods mid-scene.

7.4No zerging

Numbers are not a strategy. Rolling twenty deep onto every scene, or calling in every member the moment one of you loses a fight, ends roleplay rather than creating it.

Police, EMS & Government

8.1Emergency services are players too

Officers and medics are held to the same standards as everyone else, and are equally entitled to good roleplay from you.

8.2Do not interfere with medics

EMS working a scene are neutral. Attacking, robbing or blocking a medic mid-treatment is a fast route to a ban unless there is exceptional, pre-established roleplay behind it.

8.3Corruption requires permission

Corrupt officers, medics or officials are allowed only with department leadership and staff approval. Unsanctioned corruption RP will be rolled back.

8.4Impersonation

You may pose as an officer or medic as part of a planned scheme, but you may not use official uniforms or vehicles to bypass systems, and never to bait or harm players who are not part of that story.

8.5Serve your time at Bolingbroke

Sentences are stored against your character with a real expiry, so logging out does not run the clock down and relogging will not release you early. Serve it, roleplay it — prison is some of the best unplanned RP on any server. Fines go to the city, and appeals happen in character.

Vehicles & Property

9.1Drive like a person

No cross-country supercar driving, no jumping motorways, no using terrain the car could never survive. Crashes have consequences and so should your driving.

9.2Vehicle theft needs roleplay

Taking a parked car is fine. Lockpicking someone's owned vehicle out from under them with no interaction is not. Never steal emergency vehicles without a proper scene.

9.3Property is not a bunker

Do not use house or apartment interiors to escape an active scene, store people against their will, or dodge police mid-pursuit.

9.4Do not grief the world

Mass vehicle destruction, blocking hospital or garage entrances, and parking to break other people's access are all removable offences.

Exploits, Cheating & the Economy

10.1Report bugs, never use them

If you find a way to duplicate items, print money, clip through geometry or bypass a system, report it. Using it — even once, even "just to check" — is a permanent ban and a full wipe of what it produced. Reporting a serious exploit is rewarded.

10.2No cheats, menus, macros or injectors

Any modification granting advantage — aim assistance, teleporting, spawning, automated input — is an instant permanent ban with no appeal. Graphics mods and audio replacements are fine.

10.3No real-money trading

Selling in-game money, items, vehicles, property or characters for real currency, or trading them across servers, is a permanent ban for everyone involved.

10.4No AFK or automated farming

Scripts, weights on keys and AFK loops to grind jobs or skills are cheating. Skills are meant to be a long road — walk it.

10.5Purchases are for cosmetics and convenience

Nothing bought with real money buys you an advantage in a scene, immunity from rules, or leniency from staff. Anything purchased is tied to your account and is not transferable.

Communication & Streaming

11.1Use in-game communication in game

Phones, texts and radios exist. Do not use Discord voice, party chat or DMs to pass in-character information — that is metagaming, and it is the most common reason people are removed from serious servers.

11.2Radios are equipment, not telepathy

A radio is a physical item you have to be carrying. It can be searched for, taken off you, or destroyed — and if it is, you have no radio. Do not relay what you heard on a channel you are no longer on, and do not keep transmitting while zip-tied or unconscious.

11.3Streaming is welcome, stream sniping is not

Watching someone's stream to find, follow, avoid or ambush them is a ban. If you stream, a delay is strongly recommended — but the responsibility sits with the sniper, not the streamer.

11.4Do not record people out of character without consent

Clipping in-character scenes is fine and encouraged. Publishing private OOC conversations, tickets or DMs is not.

Punishments & Appeals

12.1How we handle breaks

Most first offences get a conversation and a warning. Repeated or deliberate breaks escalate to temporary bans, then permanent ones. Cheating, RMT, hate speech and lying about your age skip every step.

12.2Intent matters

Staff weigh what you were trying to do. Someone who misjudges a scene and owns it is treated very differently to someone hunting for loopholes.

12.3Appeals

Open a ticket in Discord. Explain what happened plainly and without heat. Evidence helps — clips, timestamps, names. Appeals are read by someone who was not involved in the original decision wherever possible.

12.4Rules change

This page is the current, authoritative ruleset. It will be updated as the server grows, and significant changes are announced in Discord. Not having re-read it is not a defence — but we will never punish anyone retroactively for something that was allowed at the time.
