Who we are

Trono Roleplay is a hobby roleplay community run by its owners, not a company. There is no marketing department here and nothing about you is worth money to us.

The fastest way to reach us about anything on this page is a ticket or a DM in our Discord. Ask for an owner if it is a privacy request and you will get one.

The website

Server logs. Our web server keeps the ordinary access log: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, your browser's user agent and the page that referred you. It is what we use to spot abuse and work out why something broke. Those logs rotate off the machine after about two weeks.

Cookies. Two, both set by us, both only there to sign you in:

• og_sess keeps you signed in after you use the Discord button. It lasts two hours for players and twelve for staff.
• og_state is a random value that lives for ten minutes and stops somebody hijacking the Discord sign-in as it happens.

There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies anywhere on this site. No Google Analytics, no pixels, no third-party scripts, nothing that follows you off it.

Signing in with Discord. The application pages use Discord's sign-in with the identify scope and nothing else, so all we receive is your Discord user ID, username and avatar. We cannot read your messages, cannot see your other servers, and never post as you. Our own bot separately asks Discord whether you are in the Trono server and which roles you have, because whitelist and staff access depend on it.

Applications. When you apply we store what you wrote: your answers, any character names and memories, your Discord ID, username and avatar as they were at the time, the decision, which staff member made it and any note or reason they left. We also store the IP address the application came from, for one purpose only, which is noticing one person applying from a pile of different accounts.

The game server

Identifiers. Connecting to any FiveM server hands that server a set of identifiers automatically. We store your Cfx.re license identifier, which is what a Trono account is keyed to, along with your Discord ID and Steam ID where you have them linked, and your IP address.

Gameplay. Everything your character is made of: names, appearance, inventory, money, vehicles, properties, jobs, skills and progress. Alongside it we keep the records that let us settle arguments: money movements, item movements, commands typed, admin actions taken and moderation history. If a player says they were robbed of half a million dollars, these logs are the only way anyone can find out what actually happened.

In-game photos. The phone camera uploads the picture to a private Discord channel and saves the link Discord gives back. That means a photo taken in the city lives on Discord's content network, and anybody holding the link can open it. Treat in-game photos as public, and do not photograph anything you would mind leaving the server.

Voice. In-game voice is live only. We do not record it, and the server has no feature for recording it.

Who else sees it

• Discord for the sign-in, our bot, and the staff channels where logs and applications are reviewed. Anything that lives on Discord is also covered by Discord's own privacy policy.
• Cfx.re, who run the FiveM platform the game server is built on and who supply the identifiers above.
• Axiom, an off-site log service we send audit events to, including those identifiers. It is the copy of the record that survives if this server does not, and it is where we look when a dispute needs settling.
• OVH, who host both machines. They sit in Canada.

We do not sell your data, we do not give it to advertisers, and we do not hand it to anyone else unless the law makes us.

Payments

The website takes no payments and there is no store today. If that ever changes, the payment provider handles the card details and we never see them, and this page will be updated before it goes live rather than afterwards.

How long we keep it

Website access logs last about two weeks. Applications, character data and audit logs are kept for as long as the community runs, because they are what bans, appeals and disputes are decided on. Database backups run every six hours and are kept for fourteen days, so something deleted today can still exist in a backup for up to two weeks after.

Your choices

Ask us in Discord and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete it. Deleting an account or a character removes the gameplay data attached to it.

Two things we keep regardless: records tied to a ban or a moderation decision, because deleting those would make a ban trivial to evade, and anything the law requires us to hold. If you are in the UK or the EU, those requests are your GDPR rights and the same Discord ticket is how you use them. We will answer inside a month.

Age

You have to be 16 or older to play here, which is rule 2.1 and is not negotiable. We do not knowingly keep data about anyone younger. If you believe we hold data on a child, tell us and it will be deleted.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Sign-in cookies are HttpOnly and same-site restricted, so a script cannot read them and another site cannot borrow them. Staff permissions are re-checked against live Discord roles rather than trusted from an old token, and neither database is reachable from the internet.

No setup is perfect. If something happens that affects your data, we will say so in Discord rather than quietly hoping nobody notices.

Changes to this page

This page is updated when what we do changes, and the date at the top is when that last happened. Anything significant is announced in Discord as well, because a policy nobody was told about is not a policy.
